DePuy Pinnacle Hip Failures

DePuy Pinnacle hip failures seem to be the issue again for Johnson & Johnson.

The DePuy Pinnacle has had a number of complaints by patients caused by loss of mobility, pain, premature failure, and various dilemmas subsequent to the implant of the device reminiscent of previous recall of DePuy ASR hip replacement.

What is problematic is that the device is manufactured from the similar design of metal-on-metal design in thousands of hip replacements within the last decade.

DePuy Pinnacle is among many replacement for metal-to-metal hip or devices for resurfacing which have been on the market as devices that are wear-resistant, which can provide a range of motion greater than devices previously designed manufactured with ceramic or plastics.

There’s been a plague in the issue from the devices becoming corroded, loosened, and failing when the parts of metal fret against the other.

The fretting, in addition, can truly in tiny metal particles entering the bloodstream and surrounding tissue, which can cause risk for the patient for metal toxicity.

DePuy Pinnacle hip failures are the result and the company is well aware of the risks the replacements of metal-on-metal hip can place on patients.

Earlier in the decade, there was a recall of the DePuy ASR device because of a failure prematurely caused by fretting or loosening of metal components.

Despite the earlier recall, however, the company still manufactured DePuy Pinnacle hip metal-on-metal replacements and similar products, which haven’t been recalled.

The US Food & Drug Administration, in addition, issued a warning for all resurfacing devices and metal hip replacements, which stated that these products of metal-on-metal can entail unique risks, such as:

The release of metal into the body, which the FDA referred to as ALTR, or adverse local tissue reaction, or ARMD, or adverse reaction to metal debris.

The particles of metal can result in harm to surrounding bones and tissue, as well as, enter the bloodstream likely.

Because of soft tissue damage and fretting, the device can loosen, resulting in pain and potentially loss of mobility.

Catastrophic pain can be caused by the corrosion of metal-on-metal hips.

The previous failure of the devices can be caused by the need of patients to undergo revision surgery, and remove the product.

Toxicity of metal can result from metal particles possibly to lead to a number of severe health concerns.

Lawsuits for DePuy Pinnacle Hip Failure

DePuy Pinnacle hip failures have resulted in a number of lawsuits against the company, because of the amount of patients sustaining injuries from device implants.

There have been complaints that the device was designed poorly and can result in dislocation, pain, and early failure; in the lawsuits allocated toward Johnson & Johnson and DePuy for Pinnacle, these are common complaints.

Patients who receive these devices with defects, and have sustained complications causing revision surgery, metal toxicity, pain, and other issues may have the ability to recover damages for sustained injuries.

The compensation can entail reimbursement for lost wages, suffering and pain, medical bills, and other damages,
